Many unreached people groups live in very isolated areas where there is little or no adequate electricity or access to the Internet. If they are going to be reached, someone has to go. And when that someone brings The HOPE on a solar-powered video projection system that fits into a backpack, the whole village shows up to watch it! So it goes, again and again. Unreached people experience The HOPE. For many, it is their first time to see a movie and to hear the Gospel. Some (often many) come to Christ.
The Help Reach Them Campaign
God desires to populate heaven with people from every tongue, tribe, and nation. But so many are still unreached! In fact, missiologists tell us that, of the world’s approximately 16,500 “ethne” (the Biblical word for nations), around 7,000 have yet to be reached with the Gospel!
The HOPE was designed to overcome 4 obstacles to reaching unreached people groups (nations) with the Gospel. Recently, we created a 3.5 min. video explaining how and why. Never before have we stopped our work on The HOPE to create a media piece about The HOPE. But it was time!
A New Internet Strategy for Reaching the World
www.TheHOPEProject.com is our website for streaming The HOPE and providing our companion Study Guide. Eventually, we expect to be streaming all of the 65+ languages of The HOPE on this website. Hundreds of people from around the world visit this site daily. If someone indicates a decision to follow Christ, they can connect to an online missionary with one of our ministry partners. Since its inception, we’ve viewed the Internet as one of the main venues where our ministry happens . . . but no longer!
Telegram App Safely Carries Gospel to the Middle East
Every month, SAT-7 Media broadcasts The Farsi, Arabic, and Turkish HOPE across the Arab speaking world via satellite TV. In the Persian Gulf and parts of North Africa, SAT-7 uses the Telegram App as their primary audience relation tool to engage with millions of Muslim viewers. Because users on Telegram are not able to see or interact with other users, the app is a safe and secure way for seekers to reach out with questions about programing they have seen.
Texas Church Taps Into the Nations using HOPE ESL
The doctor reported that Muslim women come to him with many spiritual questions after watching The HOPE. The Sindhi team says that what captivates those in Pakistan watching The HOPE is that the Bible seems to be for everyone, not just for Christians. That is exactly why we made The HOPE, The Story of God’s Promise for All People!
Spreading the Gospel, Building the Church through Social Media in Closed Access Countries
In a day of mobile media and internet ministry, partners are finding creative ways to use HOPE content on the social media mission field. During this year's Muslim holiday of Eid-al-Adha or "Sacrifice Feast", a team operating in a highly persecuted country shared short clips of The HOPE via Facebook Video. Each clip was posted with a leading question to spark conversation. Several clips had millions of views, with thousands of viewers posting comments.
New York City - Jesus Week 2017
The week of May 27-June 3, a coalition of churches in NYC are coming together like never before for “Jesus Week 2017.” In the span of a few days, hundreds of churches and parachurch organizations will be mobilized to every zip code in NYC – ministering in schools, troubled communities, and to the poor. An estimated 150,000-200,000 homes will be reached with the gospel! Over 800 languages are spoken every day in NYC, and one partner in this project has identified every household where a language other than English is spoken at home.
New Translations of The HOPE in Production
Since the beginning of the year, we’ve started three new translations of The HOPE. One is for the Guarani people in Paraguay. The other two are for people groups in Central Asia and East Asia. These must remain anonymous for security reasons. We’ve also got five new languages in the queue, ready to start soon!
Farsi HOPE Broadcast Easter Weekend
From Pakistan to El Salvador, what do food and clothing banks have in common with medical and dental clinics? People often have to wait in order to be helped. In the past two months, we received reports from ministry partners in three very different parts of the world, each one telling how The HOPE was used to share the Gospel while people waited to be served.
Helping Haitian Refugees in Mexico
April 2017. There are some 7,000 Haitians stuck in Tijuana with hopes of getting into the U.S. Many of them had been contracted to work in Brazil for the Olympics and then forced to move on. One of our ministry partners is coordinating an effort to prepare “Bible Boxes” for these displaced Haitians. These boxes will include copies of The Haitian Creole HOPE. Many of the boxes will actually be distributed with Micro SD cards for use in mobile phones, which are common among these people.
